(1) the next Pool online “show” is Thursday 9/3 @ 8pm EST! tune in from the Pool facebook page. excited to be sharing some very excellent work by: Luke Stewart (electronics / visuals), Vio Garcia (cello), and Chris Williams / Patrick Shiroishi (cornet / sax). please donate to support them (and check out their art)! Pool will be matching 50% of your contributions, to be donated to the Lebanon Emergency Appeal through Islamic Relief Worldwide. Hope you will join us!
(2) Aaron Rubinstein and I just launched 1039 Records, the new label arm of the Pool Improvised Music Series. our first release is out next Friday 9/4, and is a burning trio set featuring Chris Pitsiokos (alto sax), Javier Areal Velez (prepared guitar), and myself on drums, recorded January 2020 live at Downtown Music Gallery. Nate Sherman mastered the audio, Nicholas Ross did the beautiful collages for the cover + CD. very grateful that Lurker Bias is also putting the album out on cassette! 1039 will be donating 50% of proceeds equally between the NAACP and the Black Mental Health Alliance.
